1. Declarations to the Fgas database. What’s changed?

The new national decree F-GAS 2019 DPR 146 of 16 November 2018 on fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases), published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on 09/01/2019 and entered into force on 24 January 2019 to implement the regulation (EU) no. 517/2014, repealing the old DPR 43/2012 and the EU regulation 842/2006.

A database on fluorinated gases has been set up in order to obtain greater traceability of both the gases themselves and the plants containing them. All installation, maintenance, repair and dismantling operations will now be recorded. These communications are made by sector professionals within 30 days from the date of execution and no longer by the users themselves.

Specifically, the following is required for each refrigeration system containing refrigerant gas beyond the permitted limits:

Refrigerant GAS quantity contained in the systems (CO2-equivalent) Frequency Maintenance check of losses and register in the database
Between 5 and 50 Ton Annual
Between 50 and 500 Ton Half yearly
More than 500 Ton Quarterly

Scheduled maintenance of climatic chambers and Chillers

Optimisation of efficiency and productivity is increasingly the main objective of every company. For this reason, in recent years maintenance has assumed an increasingly important role in terms of maximising plant performance and organisational efficiency.
The maintenance of climatic chambers and chillers is no longer characterised by solely corrective actions or replacement of faulty or worn parts. If scheduled, it allows users to:

  • Promptly identify any anomalies, thus avoiding economic repercussions due to mechanical damage in the chain.
  • Control and reduce the costs of reactive interventions to a failure or unscheduled stop of the system.
  • Increase unit life cycles.

A correct maintenance schedule allows businesses not only to avoid system blocks but also to preserve resources, ensuring continuity and production efficiency.

3. Measurement protocols

The climatic chambers are located in reliable laboratories. Even a single degree of temperature change can have an impact on tests. Performing periodic calibrations helps maintain accuracy and precision of performance.
With this in mind, it is essential to rely on an accredited service that uses recognised procedures and extremely sensitive primary instrumentation, capable of guaranteeing high precision and avoiding inaccurate tests.
